No, that ringing in your ears has nothing to do with any kind of ear problem. The shards have been faintly glowing and almost whining all day. Though nothing appears to be happening.

Then it hits. Around 6:00 PM squads of geese come pelting out of the Northwest. We don't know what you did, but man are they angry, and they're going to take that anger out on you. Whether you decide to fight, flee, or fry, the remaining geese (if there are any) will straggle away, heading due South.

Left behind are a half a dozen eggs. Most of them are just goose eggs, ready for a good brekkie. You may find one or two golden ones that chime pleasantly and if left to hatch will produce a golden goose. Every crew will find one beautifully decorated Matryoshka egg. This egg will open to reveal another egg inside that, and another egg inside that one, until it just becomes ridiculous. The last egg will be nigh on invisible (if indeed it is the last egg).

And what is the use of this egg?
