WASSUP HIGH SEAS?!
Here is your Monthly Mod Post!
First things first--
EVERYONE WELCOME CC TO THE MOD TEAM!!
CC has been helping us kind of behind-the-scenes since Day 1 (or even earlier, actually, when the game was still being developed). She's been a huge part of the reason we even get apps completed each month, which we can never thank her enough for! With Denise stepping down last month and Amanda taking more of a backseat role for now (we still like to have her amazing pirate expertise around), we figured it was about time to "promote" CC, as it were. SO YAY! We're excited to have her officially on board!
For those who don't know, CC plays Smoker, Marco, and as of this app round, Rose Tyler. We've added her contact info to the Mod Page!
WELCOME ALSO TO OUR NEW PLAYERS THIS MONTH!!! Glad to have you!
Now for our usual housekeeping items:
♦ The Activity Check will take place at the end of this month! Please read that page to see what your options are for requirements. Characters new as of THIS MONTH are allowed to waive their mandatory journal post.
♦ Please make sure to comment on both the Taken Characters and Player Contacts pages! These will be updated in the next couple of days.
♦ ALL CHARACTERS IN THE GAME SHOULD HAVE A TAG! Please use these anytime you create or comment on a post inpiratejournal and high_seas! This will make it much easier for YOU if you ever want to go back and find a post your character tagged into! If your character doesn't have a tag, let a mod know and we'll create one ASAP.
♦ For the sake of clarity and making things easier to read, allpiratejournal posts & tags should be marked with some version of [WRITTEN] or [VOICE]. And remember that those are the only two methods of communication the journal has! They DO NOT have video!
♦ As you form crews or join the ones that already exist, please be sure to let us know over on the Ship Registry/Crews page! Also, we suggest making Plurk cliques with your crew members, or maybe even setting up a separate community for your crew. It makes it easy to keep in touch with everyone on board your ship and gives you a convenient place to plot, etc!
♦ We also have the Crew Locations post now. Be sure to keep it updated!
♦ As always, there is the Island Registry, too, that you can use once you set sail. You can visit any of the islands already listed there, or create one of your own!
♦ The Lookin' Fer Crew Meme is up early this month!
Other stuff...
HAPPENING NOW: The Pirates vs. Navy Battle log is a go!! KICK SOME ASS AND ENJOY~!
HAPPENING SOON: Next weekend we're still planning on starting the Cold Curse. More details on this later in the week after the log settles down, but basically you can expect temperatures to be dropping across the world and your characters are going to find it nearly impossible to warm up again -- regardless of whether they're practically made of fire or not. Oddly enough, it seems the only way to get rid of the chill is through contact with another character...
The temperature drop is a worldwide phenomenon and is going to affect everyone. The forced cuddling that may or may not result afterwards is completely optional. 8D
HAPPENING LATER: Be on the lookout for Christmas and New Years shenanigans! We've got a few ideas and some silly things that might be happening to get people in the holiday spirit!
HAPPENING...EVEN LATER: That next shard event miiight be pushed back some because holy crap we have a lot going on this month. We're still working out the details on that, and we'll keep you posted!
