dan here bringing in steve rogerscoby from one piece.

Coby here is the young man who Luffy met during episode one of One Piece. This young man was, by far, the biggest wimp in the universe and existed solely to make Luffy look awesome for awhile. Then, because Luffy scratched some magical badass dandruff all over Coby or something, Coby decided he'd become a Marine and then in like, nearly a year he turned out to be a fairly decent Marine, upgraded from loser sidekick status like he chugged some sort of super soldier serum. In reality, Coby got punched so hard he evolved.

I'm taking him from after the two-year timeskip! He's currently a Captain of the Marines and is attempting to horn in on Marco's pineapple status with his hair combed back. One day, people are going to forget Marco's whole pineapple influence and only think of Coby when they think of that fruit!

Wooooo! Mike here, just bringing this guy back into the fold. My greatly lessened college work-load and some positive life changes have given me the confidence to drag my surly Japanese wolf-boy back to Empieza.

Since I'm also still going strong with Sir Crocodile, that means I'll be controlling two anti-social curmudgeons.

He's got full memory of his last go around and won't be too happy that his little crew is no longer here.

High Seas now has a second mage Hawke from Dragon Age II.

This particular Hawke is a diplomatic, flirty creature who is way too much of a meddler and attempted people pleaser.

First things first--

WE WOULD LIKE TO OFFICIALLY WELCOME BENNU TO THE MOD TEAM!!

Bennu has been on board since about February 20th or so, but we only ever announced it on plurk so we wanted to give her a shout-out over here! She's been in the game since it opened and has a wide variety of characters across several different ships, and we're excited to have her as part of the team! We think she'll bring a lot of valuable thoughts and ideas with her and has already been a huge help in the past few weeks. So huzzah! Congrats, Bennu!

For those who don't know, Bennu plays Hajime, Motochika (Sengoku Basara version), Kai, Lea, and L-Elf. Her contact info has been added to the Mod Page!

The usual housekeeping items:

♦ New characters! If you haven't already done so, please make sure to comment on both the Taken Characters and Player Contacts pages! CURRENT PLAYERS WHO HAVE NOT ADDED ANY ADDITIONAL CHARACTERS TO THEIR CONTACT INFO SHOULD ALSO DO SO.

♦ ALL CHARACTERS IN THE GAME SHOULD HAVE A TAG! Please use these anytime you create or comment on a post in piratejournal and high_seas! This will make it much easier for YOU if you ever want to go back and find a post your character tagged into! If your character doesn't have a tag, let a mod know and we'll create one ASAP.

♦ As you form crews or join the ones that already exist, please be sure to let us know over on the Ship Registry / Crews page! Also, we suggest making plurk cliques with your crew members, or maybe even setting up a separate DW community for your crew. It makes it easy to keep in touch with everyone on board your ship and gives you a convenient place to plot, etc!

♦ We also have the Crew Locations post now. Be sure to keep it updated!

♦ Joining a crew is not optional. Whether you start your own, hop on someone else's ship, or even set sail by yourself, YOUR CHARACTER SHOULD EVENTUALLY END UP SAILING THE SEAS. Isla Empieza is not there for them to set up a permanent residence! Get yourself on a boat!

♦ You can use the Island Registry to determine where you would like to sail to and have ADVENTURES. Feel free to visit any of the islands already listed there, or create one of your own!

♦ We really suggest that you keep the Mod Plurk friended, as we use it often and post all sorts of updates, reminders, and event notifications over there: highseas

♦ This month's Lookin' Fer Crew Meme will go up over the weekend sometime.


Current happenings in game:

♦ This month is NAVY MONTH. The Navy is out in full force right now, and you can feel free to have your characters engage them whenever they want! This includes new characters, too. There are plenty of lower ranking officers and ships out there right now that you're more than welcome to play around with if you want to engage in any fights or hijinks.

♦ Reminder for those who signed up for a Captain and/or Admiral fight, you have until April 6th to get your logs up!

♦ Stay tuned for April events/plots/curses to be announced within the next couple weeks. We've got some ideas in mind, and there might even be some April Fools shenanigans planned~

 hello all...I'm new to High Seas and also new to RPing using a forum like here on dreamwidth. All my previous RPing has been in notes, emails, and instand messengers, so as such, I'm not real familiar with using sites like this to the fullest yet.
