PIRATES vs. NAVY BATTLE PLANNING

ATTENTION ALL CREWS!!!

Please use this post to discuss your plans, where various characters will be throughout the attack, and get details straightened out so we can be sure that nobody's toes are getting stepped on!

Everyone is allowed to bring their thoughts to the table and ALL PLOTS are welcome.

Not everyone has to do the same thing!

We just want to make sure everyone is aware of what's going down. :)

Horatio will have a landing party (possibly with more than one boat attached to it) to get people either off where they came in under cover of darkness or to the Nav in Backwater.

I should also note: Horatio's landing party plan relies more on stealth than combat. They'll probably find trouble, of course, but his focus is getting in, getting people, getting out.

Motochika definitely wants to get on the island, but his crew is tiny and he's about as good at planning things as Luffy is, so if anyone has any suggestions...

Magical Maritime Fun with the Alcyone

As I've said on plurk, the Alcyone will be sticking near the Charming Murderess and giving everyone cover fire of the magical kind once stealth is out of the window. That pretty much means Jade will be raining thunder and lightning on Navy ships, both around the island and in port, to keep the Navy's attention divided and just generally spook them because lightning raining down from the sky what our ships are on fire.

...Mind you, because Jade will be busy casting and they've lost just about all their other fighters (besides Luke, anyway), they're kind of going to be sitting ducks.

Also, we do have some space on the ship and an unused Nav if anyone needs it!

As mentioned, Sinewave plans to send about six of their crew (at most) through their Nav to a ship closer to Empieza. Here is Dirk's initial request, here is Codi's repeat of the same request in the big IC plot thing. Dirk's robot Sawtooth will be coming with them and can propel a raft very quickly to shore, so as long as they have a raft to begin with, they can (hopefully) get to the island without too much trouble.

No concrete plans for when we get there, that I know of. Codi I know is opportunistic and will oscillate between helping new people and poking at stray Navy troops at random. If you guys have anything specific you want to do, please say so here so I don't keep forgetting!

Karen's going to use her powers to propel a landing boat at high speed and get to the island early, at which point she'll focus on keeping the path to Backwater Brig open.

The Spade Pirates have stolen a Navy ship and a few uniforms. They're going to try and sneak past the Navy ever so sneakily. And then get outed the second they touch on shore.

Their rather simplistic goal will be to fight the Navy and hope to force them to consider a retreat. This idea looks much better scrawled into the wall of a cave, honestly.

The Spade crew is likely going to draw a bit of attention, if Motochika wants to help make noise with his crew!

Korra

Korra isn't limiting herself to her place on the Spade Pirates, and... isn't so hot at listening to orders anyway. She's so far made IC plans with Tojiko to speak with Mononobe no Futo about conjuring up a little fog over the Navy ships. It was also brought up in the plotting plurk the possibility of her being a motor for a boat (to bring people ashore, I'm assuming?), which I would also be up for! I'm assuming that both tasks could be accomplished at the same time? If there's a hiccup there, please let me know! Other than that, I'd like to be able to get that aspect ironed out here if possible.

EDIT: As of right now, she will be powering a long boat filled with fighters in the night and hiding out until the morning of the invasion to conjure the fog.

Korra will be rearing to get to the thick of the fighting, so that is another consideration I'd like to make. Once she's done transporting people or making fog or whatever exactly she ends up doing, she'll be wrecking ships and taking out soldiers all she can and eventually making her way to shore to try to find new arrivals. There's a chance that Asami could arrive with the newbies, so Korra will be teaming up with her if possible.

And when all is said and done, Korra will be hanging around to heal people with waterbending. If you're planning for an injured character or if it just comes up, she'll be open for that, as well.

THE CHARMING MURDERESS

OKAY HERE'S WHAT I HAVE SO FAR, crew, correct me if I missed anything BUT here is what we've got?

Foggy Waters - Tojiko will be using her powers along with some boogie woogie Feng Shui to conjure up some fog that will hide their ship and hide others if they need it but ONLY ON THE APPROACH. It will be pretty much useless once they're in closer range, but it keeps Naval ship bombardments from having any real accuracy, so there's that.

Scouting - Futo and Korra of the Spades were working together, last I checked, on recon. I think the're using Futo's flying boat to get in above the Navy and sabotage from behind? They can confirm/deny these details. EDIT: See, Korra-mun posted before I did. SEE HER FOR DETAILS.

Landing Party - Sasuke-mun's got that covered above

Bombardment - Otherwise, the ship should be helping the Alcyone with the shooting, unless otherwise noted.

Link (the older)

Link is part of the Charming Murderess, and their plans thus far are pretty much outlined here, but Link doesn't have any specific plans, yet.

I'm pretty open as to what he gets up to! Some major points would be that he is much better suited to fighting on the ground, and that he will be clinging to Hylia's side whenever possible. He'll also be looking out for bitty Link.

I don't know how much we can provide(well, aside from Motochika, who's pretty noisy...) but that could work. He's basically hit ego rock-bottom at this point, so he'll go with any plan that gets him on the island with his boat intact.

Link, the younger

All fun and games aside, I'd actually like to traumatize the kid here by making him have to kill an actual person in self defense, instead of just a monster. The Navy may eventually retreat, but they're out for blood and it's kill or be killed.

Would anyone be up for threading an encounter alongside Link where that occurs?

EDIT: It could be in the course of defending himself, or while protecting someone else. Either is good. Possibly with his sword if it's up close, or with a pistol he re-acquires after hitting the ground.

We are taking on any injured that need to be removed from the fray of battle, newbie or crews, it doesn't matter. Winry is competent enough with medical knowledge and Ed can apply pressure to wounds (ha ha).

sadly, mama's gonna be on the ship the whole time, so it would have to be a definite post battle aftermath, but prepare to be smothered with the love, replacement for the son she never got to see grow up
