So here's the long story: when Robin came back from her month-long canon update, it made her mad that she went home and remembered nothing. That she'd never have known or remembered anything or anyone she met here in Davy Jones' seas. But instead of letting it eat away at her as it had been before, she decided to do something about it. Working under the assumption that figures such as Davy Jones and Scurvey Dog were- at one time- mortal, Robin began trying to unravel the source of their power. She intends to keep studying and searching until she either proves that the things they do are absolutely unattainable by the "foreign" populace, or until she succeeds.

But Davy Jones is a fickle man, and could on a whim choose to send her back to her home at any moment.

This is where others come in. She's talked to a few people IC, but if others want to be a part of this ongoing plot, they are more than welcome. Robin feels like the information she learns should be somewhat dispersed, though not necessarily widely so, and not necessarily over the journals, which Scurvey Dog can listen to. But it's better than running the risk of losing everything due to Davy Jones' mood.

I don't know how far the mods would allow us to take it or what sorts of things we'd be able to accomplish, but thus far I've found them willing to at least hear me out. Keep in mind, though, it will take time. Months to get anything substantial, possibly years. Even with characters that are in their own canons known to be uber geniuses who outsmarted the world's greatest minds as a child. That's pretty much all that even gives them a chance at figuring the magic out, since natives mostly find it taboo to talk about such things, and Meep and Scurvey Dog have reasons to oppose the research. Robin has made a little bit of headway (she thinks she knows what the field of study is actually called) and at least has a general idea of where to start (which has taken two and a half months, at this point). The question is whether or not others want to get in on it or not. This post is for both transparency so that others who don't necessarily follow my character can know that this might be something that happens and may wind up at least tangentially affecting them, as well as to gauge other players' interest and see which characters I should be watching for opportunities to tag.

Here's the tl;dr version:

Anyone want to try and learn how to do magic like Meep, Scurvey Dog, and Davy Jones? It may not ever amount to anything. It may wind up making big changes. I honestly have no idea.

Consider this an open plotting/ recruiting post. If you think it's something your character would be interested in, let's talk!

Hi, everyone! Varali here, your resident Kodachi-mun, with a plotting post. :3 As some of you may or may not know, she's got a radio drama in the works, and the gist of the plot is that a prosperous kingdom is shaken when the king's brother is murdered.

How I plan to go about it is to open up a google document and let everyone type up their lines according to how they want their characters to interpret the radio drama's characters. (Characterception!) I'll provide an outline and the characters can fill in the blanks as they want. :) I'm thinking we can have four short acts. First act is the introduction of the characters. Second would be confrontations between them. Third would be more confrontations. Fourth would be climax and resolution.

Here's a list of the characters of the radio drama (and the characters playing them):
The Narrator - Ragna [[personal profile] rebellions]
The person narrating stuff.

The King - Kuzan [[personal profile] lazyjustice]
Kind and benevolent king. Well respected by his subjects.

The King's Brother - Brady [[personal profile] cry_brady]
Guy who gets murdered. Whoops.

The Princess - Musa [[personal profile] melodyssong]
Princess that's genteel on the outside, steely on the inside. Gentle backbone of the kingdom.

The Knight - Ringabel [[personal profile] knightlydiary]
Flowery knight courting the princess. Comedy relief. Means well but is often in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The Squire - Yasaburo [[personal profile] buttwarmed]
Uppity squire who doesn't want to be serving the knight. Comes from a line of nobles.

The Foreign Dignitary/Arsonist - Motochika [[personal profile] seadevil]
Foreign dignitary betrothed to the princess. Known arsonist. Seductive and sinister.

The General of the Kingdom's Forces/Military Tactician - Dust [[personal profile] mithrarin]
Stern general who leads the kingdom's forces. Might of the kingdom. Feared by all.

The Mermaid/Oracle - Selphie [[personal profile] booyaka_boom]
Mermaid washed ashore who talks about portents. Released into the sea after her role.

The Protagonist/Very Observant Librarian - Ikki [[personal profile] uccellodifuoco]
Protagonist that works as a librarian in the castle library. Very observant. Watches all of the characters.
Oh, and who's the murderer, you ask? Well, I'm going to hit up RNG and only the character selected to be the murderer will know. Everyone else in the character roster will be just as perplexed as the rest of us. ;) (Think Mafia!)

I know that October is a very busy month, so we can just take our time writing out whatever happens. I'll compile everything and post it for us whenever we're ready. :)

Also, if anyone has suggestions, hit me up!

March is Navy Month!

All through the month of March your crews will have an increased opportunity to engage with the Navy. While it’s not a requirement to interact, the Navy will be out in full force and it’s likely at the very least your crew will spot them in the distance. They may even come island bound, excluding Empieza, if that suits your needs better.

If you do choose to engage, the fights are up to you; in other words, no one will be NPCing them. But we have three options for fighting.

details under cut )

Any other questions feel free to ask. Also there is a single day event happening in the middle of the month (which will be announced on the 1st) so be prepared for a little chaos!

UPDATE: IC introduction/signups have been posted!

Hello friends! Thalia here, hoping to maybe set up some long-term group plotting if anyone is interested!

The details are explained in this thread with Codi and Karen, primarily addressing Karen's third point in her list. The idea is to organize some kind of IC new person welcome committee, involving (hopefully!) at least one person from each crew to check in and keep track of crew capacity, missing members, locations, needs and conflicts, and the like--which can then be posted at the beginning of each intro period to inform newbies about what's going on and where to go from Empieza! Here's a basic rundown of what this group could do (although it doesn't have to perform all of these functions, and is not guaranteed to actually do any of the ones agreed on):

  • Catalog all crews and their current capacities, including willingness to take in recruits and keeping track of missing shipmates;

  • Observe current locations of crews, to better coordinate meetings or missions (or espionage hurhur);

  • Make sure at least one experienced crew is stationed on Empieza during processing time to avoid another Sasuke gomen Sasuke, which can be decided via rotation or vote or something;

  • Gather all of the above data into a single entry made at the beginning of processing time to keep new people informed, so that they don't have to ask Dog instead;

  • Come up with questions for Dog each week, which address the concerns of all parties in as fair a fashion as a group of kidnapped pirates can muster.

If there are enough people who think their characters would be interested in helping run this group, Codi will make an official organization post regarding this dated to January 2nd. Depending on how quickly people respond to this, it may be backdated until we reach some kind of critical mass (although the option to sign up is always open until stated otherwise!). Codi will want to lead this because she is kind of a control freak. Should be fun!

Several Important Notes:

First, as the post Karen made addresses, there are obviously going to be characters that will not approve of this, either because they don't like being told what to do or they're paranoid of the others or because they don't check the journals often or whatever. This is great! Direct sabotage, dissension amongst the ranks, spies, I look forward to all of that happening because it would be awesome to play out. If your character(s) will oppose this, do not fret!

Second, I am aware that all of these points are mostly taken care of OOCly through the efforts of our lovely mods, and I am in no way trying to challenge their methods of organization. This is an IC group--think of it as a retelling of things that are worked out OOCly, but have so far been handwaved as coincidence or similar in-game. If the actions of this group can give muns an excuse to organize meetings or crew compositions OOCly, then all the better! It is just another option added to the many options that we already have available to us, all of which have been working very well.

Anywho--questions have their own thread within, signups and opposition can make their own top-level threads if you'd like. If you want to contact me directly, the best way is through [plurk.com profile] manicmuse, feel free to friend, all that jazz. Looking forward to plotting funtimes!

ATTENTION ALL CREWS!!!

Please use this post to discuss your plans, where various characters will be throughout the attack, and get details straightened out so we can be sure that nobody's toes are getting stepped on!

Everyone is allowed to bring their thoughts to the table and ALL PLOTS are welcome.

Not everyone has to do the same thing!

We just want to make sure everyone is aware of what's going down. :)

Please also take a look at the two newest plurks over here: [plurk.com profile] highseasmods, especially this one.

THANK YOU.

Okay, so!

The IC plotting has gone on for a bit, and I wanted to get the OOC aspect down. We're past the recruitment phase at this point and we're into the STRATERGIZIN' part.

Tojiko and the other tacticians have come up with quite a few ideas and you can find them largely summarized in THIS THREAD (please read before commenting)

OOCly, does anyone else have any other ideas, and how are we going to implement this? And, if I recall, the mods have something still in mind, too, so we need that piece of the puzzle, too.

Hey, guys!

This is Dan, the guy who brings you such glorious characters named 'Dave' and 'Ace'. You can just smell the 80s karate villain off of them both. Anyway, since the Navy is camped out on Isla Empieza and hindering the pirate spirit, people are going to be put out and in danger the second they arrive in game!

Ace and his crew are going to try and derail this entirely. Basically, they're going to launch an attack on the Navy and try to drive them out.

We'd like to see if any other crews would like to team up to fight the Navy! They can either come across the Spade Pirates and be implored upon to help in the fight or at least try and rally up other pirate crews to do so! Ace is going to be looking to unite some NPC pirates for this whole thing.

SO, WHO WANTS IN?

Edit: As for logs, there would be one recruiting post sea to THE SEA and one set for Isla Empieza for the actual revolt!
